Rumor is that Toronto is quietly shopping him around because he isn't happy with the Blue Jays...Who could he end up with?

  1. Look for the Phillies to go after Halladay.  They will be willing to make a trade.  Halladay is tired of playing for a team that never seems to be in the pennant chase.

  2. I have not heard that but , if its true the Yankees could use him and would be so valuable has the most complete games this season

  3. Even if this were true, the Yankees and Red Sox are the LAST teams he would go to.  There is no way the Jays will trade him to a team in their own division.  Why would they trade him to the Yanks/Sox only to face hime several times a year?

If he goes anywhere, he'll most likely go to a National League team.

  4. they prolly are putting his name out there just incase someone offers something they cant refuse like a top prospect or A #3 AND #5 prospect plus a reliever

another thing is that most teams put alot of their playerson a certin type of waivers monthly just to see if they could get something great in return  its a common thing

as for Halladay  if he were to go anywhere possibly the rays they have alot of young talent to offer always the sox and yankees could be in the picture and i would throw out the mets aswell

  5. He's not going anywhere.

  6. probably where he is now, because he's their ace and hi might get an extension.

  7. There is no way that the jays would trade him to any team in their division.

  8. Phillies wouldnt be a bad spot:)

haha that wont happen, but i guess i can make an argument that it might.

    1. I doubt the Jays would trade one of the best pitchers in baseball to another AL team. That cuts the possible list down to the 16 NL teams.

    2. Halladay is a well established pitcher who I am pretty sure has a no trade clause, so he would want to go to a contending team, otherwise it would be pointless to create a fuss. So that leaves the top 2-3 teams in each of the 3 NL divisons. (Phillies, Mets, Marlins, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers, Arizona, and the Dodgers)

    3. The Mets, Cubs, and Brewers have already traded for an Ace in the last 8 months.

    4. Arizona already has an amazing pitching staff, and doesnt need to add any arms, and the Marlins are the Marlins, who wont pay for anyone, and only trade established starts, not for them.

That leaves the Phillies, Cardinals, and the Dodgers. So at this point a 33% chance.

    Reason the Phillies chances Rise:

    1. Pat Gillick is in his last season in baseball, so he might as well go for the Gold, and improve the starting rotation.

    2. Blanton, Eaton, and Myers suck.

    3. They have been shopping around a lot for any kind of help to put this team completely over the top in the NL East.

Reasons for the Phillies chances to go down.

    1. They already traded for a pitcher (Blanton).

    2. They might not have the resources available to land Halladay (prospects).

    3. They seem to be headed hard right now for Holliday and Fuentes, they are just waiting to see what the Rockies decide.

So Id say there chances in all likelihood IF the Jays do trade him, its about a 25% chance that it would be to the Phillies. and then a 45% chance to the Dodgers. leaving the Cardinals with about a 30% likelihood.

In the end my answer is simple. He could end up with either of those three teams, MAYBE the Mets. But Id bank on the Dodgers (lots and lots and lots of available prospects).

  9. That is not true in fact Ricciardi was talking about an extension.

  10. I would love the yanks to get him but i must say Max Stock35 our pitchers don't suck at all. Mussina just got his 13th victory , the yanks win every start that ponson makes , Pettite is doing good , and joba is finally throwing less walks, and the bullpen is doing amazing. I must say max not the best comment to say that the yankees pitching sucks.

  11. I don't see that happening. But, if they do it would probably be to the Dodgers or DiamondBacks, they both have the $$$ and the prospects to make it happen.

  12. Who could blame Doc for wanting out of that mess. All of the  big budget contenders who have not rented a pitcher yet will be at least be willing to see how much Riccardi wants - Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers probably.

  13. sweet as a yankee fan i pray we get him !! also heres a day in the life of me, i was at a yankee game when he was pitching, everyone was queit and i wanted him to wave hi to me so i kept waving my hands yelling his name, he gave me a dirty look...but yea i see the yankees getting him because or pitchers suck

  14. the rumor is he might go to the Dodgers

  15. i doubt the truth of that rumor...halladay is the one constant remaining on that team, why would ricciardi want to move him, especially since his job is in great jeopardy?

  16. All-most all ballplayers get traded.  At least 95% of players or more.

Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Babe Ruth, Pete Alexander, Lefty Grove(the best pitcher of all time) and  many other HOFers have been traded at least once.
