Roy Halladay throws simulated bullpen session as he is all set to return after All-Star break-MLB

Building on a couple of bullpen sessions in the last week, the Philadelphia Phillies’ ace Roy Halladay increases his pitch count in the latest simulated session on Tuesday. Of all the spells he pitched ever since he has started throwing in an attempt to
return to the season, Tuesday’s session was the most conspicuous reflection of his preparations as a pitcher.
He hurled 56 pitches. As per the pitching coach Rich Dubee, he has come close to appearing in the season if the quality of his throws in the bullpen session is anything go by. One can expect him making his way into the Phillies’ rotation right after conclusion
of the All-Star Game, he stated.
The Phillies have struggled in the season in many areas. While their offence was already weak, pitchers also floundered. Meanwhile, flurry of injuries dented their progress further. Among them, Roy Halladay’ suffering strained latissimus dorsi muscle and
being announced out from the season for a lengthy time-period was the greatest set-back.
Even if Halladay was not impressive before being injured, his mastery for throwing shut-out games is not doubted. Therefore, at any time of the season he could turn out to be their redeemer.
As he is set to come back now, the Phillies will be extremely pleased. They will like to find Halladay performing up to potential on his return and making amends for his poor outings at the start of the season.
In this connection, Dubee spoke about Halladay. According to him, the way he threw pitches in the bullpen, there is every reason to believe that he will be at his best on comeback.
"I don't know where he'll be when he gets back," Dubee said. "I hope he's close to what he used to be. But the signs are leading that he's doing very well."
Rumours abound about the Phillies being a seller as the trade deadline approaches. This is something the Phillies will like to avoid. For this, building up long-winning streaks in the next couple of weeks is required.
In this regard, Halladay can prove the only link which was missing in the Phillies and turn out to be a reason behind their successful journey from now onwards.
