England’s manager, Roy Hodgson has gone on to admit that he is currently looking at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 to be England’s next captain, during the absence of Steven Gerrard.
England are set to take on Ireland and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder is going to be undergoing surgery, which will rule him out for a couple
of months.
However, the team is going to need someone to take charge when Gerrard is absent, and he feels Rooney is the right man to do so.

When talking about Rooney and the possibility of him captaining the side, Hodgson is reported to have said, “Rooney] has captained England once against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986.”
He then went on to add that he was certain that the player enjoyed his time as team captain, which would make him more than willing to take up the responsibility once again.
Nonetheless, the manager also went on to talk about the players’ personal life, with regards to his potential transfer and his wife having a baby. Hodgson feels that he has no concerns with any personal matters and issues that Rooney has, as long as he can
perform and deliver when he is on the pitch.
“There are rumours circulating about whether he wants a move, whether Manchester United are prepared to sell him,” Hodgson said. “I've spoken to him. I was concerned because you know that his wife Coleen is having a baby not long before we meet up. But he
was at great pains to assure me that he was really looking forward to playing for England, that it's something that's top of his agenda, and that's enough for me.”
