Roy Hodgson delighted with WBA’s comeback against Newcastle; Pulis frustrated by referee decisions
Hodgson delighted with his team’s comeback
West Bromwich Albion boss, Roy Hodgson, is delighted with his team’s comeback against Newcastle United on Sunday, May 22nd, 2011.
WBA went three goals down inside 50 minutes into the game at St. James’s Park but a second-half hat-trick from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss added that his team did not let their heads down despite going three goals down and they were rewarded for the good work.
Talking to the reporters, Hodgson said, “I was disappointed with the 2-0 and was bitterly disappointed to really look down the barrel of a gun when we conceded the own goal.  All credit to the players, they didn’t give up hope and they took the game to Newcastle and we scored three good goals.”
A point from the game helped WBA finish 11th on the league table and Hodgson is happy with how things have gone since he took over the managerial duties.
Pulis frustrated by refereeing decisions
Stoke City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884, 2011.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Rodallega-c16414’s 78th minute goal helped the Latics to avoid relegation but it handed the Potters their first home defeat this year. Pulis reckons that his side dominated throughout the game but decisions did not go their way. The 53-year-old believes that his team did not play to their best in the second-half and allowed Wigan to get back into the game.
However, the former Portsmouth manager believes that his team was denied two clear penalty shouts in the second-half and things would have been completely different had the decisions gone their way.
"They rode their luck a little bit in certain areas. There were some generous decisions which also went their way, but I better be careful I don't [risk] the wrath of the FA. The first 20 minutes of the second half we were poor. We started as if the game was won and it was over, and Wigan were fighting for their lives.”
Pulis is satisfied with his team’s season after finishing 13th on the league table.
