The new English national team manager has tried to rally his players as well as the nation behind him for the upcoming EURO 2012 tournament in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 after he was handed a four year contract by the English Football
Association...
Harry Redknapp was the Football Association’s first choice from the moment that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello left the England team after differences over John Terry’s removal as the captain of the national team but now F.A have gone for their
next best option, Roy Hodgson.
The West Bromwich Albion manager was not in contention earlier on in the race to become the English national team manager but now due to Redknapp’s determined stance on his stay at Tottenham Hotspur has pushed F.A’s hand. The
F.A have given Hodgson a four year deal which will mean that he will not only take the three lions to play in the European Championships but also to the next FIFA World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, 2014.
Hodgson said in his interview, “It's a very proud day for me, I'm a very happy man to have been offered the chance to manage my country. I'm looking forward to the task ahead; everybody knows it's not an easy one. But I'm also
hoping that everybody - the fans, the supporters, everybody within the country - will get behind the team, because it's the team that counts, it's the team that will win us matches, and I'll do my very best to make sure the team is as well prepared as possible
for the task that lies ahead.”
He added, “I'm grateful for the chance to be the manager of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and I'm looking forward to the task ahead. I think we've always got to go to tournaments to win them because we're a major football nation. It's never going to
be easy and it's going to be a little more difficult on this occasion because the man who qualified the team has left the team and I've come in to take over at a very late stage. But I certainly think the players would be disappointed if we expected anything
less of them than an attempt to win a tournament."
