Roy Hodgson determined to battle on
Roy Hodgson is determined to keep his position as the head honcho of Liverpool, despite immense lack of support from the fans.
The Reds manager has been under extreme pressure in recent weeks. A string of abysmal results has left the club floundering in the bottom half of the table, something that Liverpool fans are not used to seeing. Their defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton
Wolves saw them slide further down onto 12th place. The loss at Anfield against the bottom placed side was the last straw for many fans.

the club after Rafael Benitez’s departure. After their loss, a despondent Hodgson expressed his unhappiness at the lack of support from the fans.
In a recent web-based poll, over 95% of respondents said they wanted to see Roy Hodgson sacked. Liverpool’s new owners are concerned about Hodgson’s unpopularity with the supporters, leading to intense speculation on his future at the club. However, the
Reds manager has insisted that he will soldier on.
Speaking on his future at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Hodgson said, “It has taken me a long while to get to this elevated position coaching one of the best clubs in Europe. I was very pleased to get the job - I left a very good job to take it - so the last thing in my mind
is walking away from a club like this or walking away from football. I want to be here, I want to change things, I want to turn it around and I want to help the club and the new owners get the success they want.”
The ‘very good job’ which Hodgson was referring to was of course his position as the manager of Fulham. His time with the Cottagers had been very fruitful. However, the 63-year-old has not found life at Anfield quite so rewarding. With the start of the new
year, Hodgson will be hoping to put the misery of recent weeks behind him and bring Liverpool’s season back on track.
