Roy Hodgson looking to buy; Dirk Kuyt hopes to win in festive period
Manager Roy Hodgson has expressed his desire to bring new players and build a Liverpool team in his own way.
Roy joined the club at the start of the season after the departure of Spanish coach Rafael Benitez. With limited financial resources, Roy was given an arduous task of rebuilding a team that failed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification last season.
The former Fulham FC boss introduced new faces at the club including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Poulsen-c9114.
However, Hodgson believes that he will require a lot more time as a manager to mould the Reds into his own cast.
The former Cottagers manager also revealed his intentions of bringing new players at Anfield in the January transfer window.
He said, “It is starting to feel more like my side. But it is still a team that I have not put together. I want to make that clear. I am more than happy to take responsibility for this squad but it takes a coach more than five or six months to make his stamp
on a club. I am hoping we will do some good business in transfer windows to come.”
Meanwhile, midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 has spoken about the importance of his side’s upcoming fixtures in the English Premier League.
The fixtures are coming in a flurry for the Reds in the Christmas period as they play 4 matches in a space of 11 days. Starting with a Boxing Day fixture at Blackpool FC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers
during the following weeks.
Kuyt is hopeful of winning all the 4 matches as a chance to climb up the ladder in the Premier League standings.
Liverpool have 22 points from 17 games and are 9 points behind 4th placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC.  However, the champions are likely to drop points in the coming days as they travel to face Arsenal FC at the Emirates Stadium.
The 30-year-old Dutchman said, “This period is one of the most important of the season. If we can produce a good run I'm sure we will be up near the top four. I'm sure a lot of the top teams will drop some points this month. If we could get four good results
in a row, then who knows? Certainly the gap will be closer.”
Kuyt has featured in 12 Premier League matches for the Reds and has scored 3 goals in the league this season.
