Roy Hodgson pleads for patience
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 were thoroughly humiliated on Wednesday as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton at Anfield.
It was the visitors’ first away win in almost nine months. For Red’s boss Roy Hodgson, it was yet another turn of the s***w. The 63-year-old is now under intense pressure from both the fans and the establishment, bringing his future with the club under speculation.
As the game ended, Liverpool supporters vented their anger at the manager with ironic chants of “Hodgson for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.” Perhaps more disturbingly for the under-fire boss, the Kop called out for Liverpool legend Kenny Dalgish to take over at the helm.
Roy Hodgson has pleaded for patience from the Liverpool supporters. The 63-year-old said, “"I am getting used to it, that is the way it is. We've had to live that with quite a long time now as ever since I came here the famous Anfield support has not really
been there. There were the problems with the owners, then Kenny (Dalgish) being so popular and not getting the job and it being given to me. It is sad and I don't like hearing those things because I am trying to do the best job I can do. I am working as hard
as I can.”
The under-fire manager has recently admitted that the negativity emanating from the stands is disrupting the performance of the team. Hodgson went on to add that in his opinion, Liverpool are still more than capable of turning their campaign around.
If the Reds hope to achieve anything this season, they will have to improve drastically. As it stands, few believe they can make it into the Europa League, let alone the top four. Wednesday’s defeat leaves them just three points above the relegation zone,
something that is unacceptable for a club with such a pedigree.
If things don’t change soon, we may see Kenny Dalgish in the manager’s chair in a little while. Roy Hodgson’s next test is against Bolton on 1 January.
