http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s problems just do not seem to end. The club started this season under a new manager, hoping for a new start, but sadly that has just not happened. The club has continued to go further down despite numerous promises and pleads by the management
to the faithful fans of the club.
On Wednesday, Liverpool suffered yet another big defeat at the hands of the Wolves; the 1-0 loss enraged the fans that are already on the edge these days. Roy Hodgson, the club manager, has once again come out and asked the fans to stay behind the team
despite the loss.
It was Stephen Ward who scored the match winning goal at Anfield, inflicting the 8th defeat for the Reds this season. As soon as the referee blew the final whistle, there were loud boos all around Anfield and disappointed and angry Liverpool fans
made their feelings known.
After the match Hodgson said:
"The fans have left angry and that's understandable. We've let them down,"
"I have to hope the fans will become supporters because we need support. We are not deliberately losing games."
The future of former Fulham boss seems to be in the air, and he would be hoping and praying that his team can turn it around in the New Year. Liverpool plays their next game on New Year’s Day against Bolton at home. If the Reds cannot come away with a win
in that game, Roy Hodgson would be even closer to getting the axe.
When the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 ended amidst the boos from the home fans, there were also shouts of the name Kenny Dalglish. Kenny was a former manager of Liverpool and it seems like the scousers want him back at the helm, following 6 years of Rafael Benitez
and half a season under Roy Hodgson.
Liverpool fans are believed to be the most passionate ones in the country and when it comes to sarcasm, they are also not far behind. When Hodgson replaced David Ngog with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 there were loud shouts from the ‘KOP’ saying ‘Hodgson for England’.
Hodgson, though, said that he is not bothered by such chants and he is only focused on his job. However, he admitted that such chants and boos do affect the team and at a time when they are struggling to climb up the table, the fans should be 100% behind
them rather than sending boos and negative chants their way.
Roy Hodgson, who took over in July from Fulham, said that ever since he took over the club he had heard of the Liverpool fans that get behind their team no matter what. However he is yet to see that support.
Hodgson admitted that there were a number of things going on in the background when he came to the club. He said that the fans were not happy with the owners, plus they probably wanted Kenny Dalglish to take the job. He went on to say that obviously it is
very disappointing to hear all the things said about his managerial style as he is only doing the best he can considering what he has at his disposal.
Liverpool are currently 12th in the table having just 22 points from 18 games. The Reds have never finished outside the top 8 in the league in 4 decades. But the way things have been going for them, the age old record seems to be going out of
the window this season.
