The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 who will be England’s main offensive threat in the latter stages of the competition as he is fully fit and itching to take the field for the Three
Lions in Poland and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032...
There was a lot of talk about how Wayne Rooney’s absence might affect England at the European Championships as the England striker is currently serving a two match ban imposed on him by UEFA for being shown a red card in the Three
Lions’ last qualification fixture.
Rooney’s absence has been felt by England but the affect itself has been compensated due to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Welbeck’s movement up front for the English national team. Now as the tournament progresses into the last two matches of the group
stages, England’s manager has issued a warning to his team’s critics that it will be Rooney who will be England’s main offensive threat once he returns from his two match ban.
England are set to take on Sweden up next on Friday and after that it is Ukraine that stand in their way but in their first match, Hodgson’s men did well to battle for a 1-1 draw against Laurent Blanc’s France. Since their draw,
England have been criticized in media circles for playing in an overtly defensive manner, a style that does not bother Hodgson.
Hodgson said, "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, wasn't he? I think he deserved to start the game. But I like Andy Carroll, too. His performance in Oslo made a big impression on me and I wouldn't hesitate to play him,
just as I wouldn't hesitate to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359.”
He added, "And our real ace in the hole, I think, should be Wayne Rooney. He is very fit and he's raring to go. He really can't wait to get on the field. And if he can get on the field and can play like Wayne Rooney, then we're
going to be a bit more difficult to beat for some of these teams."
It will be interesting to see which player start for England against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 for their opening
encounter of the 2012 European Championships.
