The new England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed he is aware that his squad is under pressure, but was certain they had the confidence to perform well in the European Championships.

tournaments.
Hodgson has so far not managed to impress anyone other than his players, with the majority of the media not expecting much from the team under him. The manager however, has retained belief in his side, claiming they would perform well under pressure.
Hodgson said in an interview:
“We, as coaches, put them under enormous pressure - we want a lot from them - because we can only succeed when they succeed.”
He continued:
“I would expect the players to have confidence and self-belief and if they haven't, I'll be saying to them: "Why haven't you got self-belief? If I was as good as you, I'd be very, very confident".”
The Three Lions are scheduled to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032, the co-hosts of the tournament. Hodgson admitted he would not enjoy the tournament if his side did not
win.
The English manager revealed:
“I'm looking forward to it. I'm determined to enjoy it as best as we can. But of course to really enjoy it, you've got to win.
There's very little enjoyment to be had in football when you're not winning and we all know that.”
While Hodgson admitted he was looking forward to the tournament and his side’s performance in the upcoming matches, he was not exactly looking forward to leading a side which failed to do well and win the coveted European trophy.

He concluded:
“It's a football match and anything can happen.”
