The 63-year-old is now aware that he may not be the manager when the Reds travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. It took two quick goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Olsson-c24423 to take the match away from the visitors.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 looked to turn things around when he scored in the 80th minute. The skipper however, missed the chance to double his tally when he ballooned over a penalty he won in the dying moments.
Such an embarrassing result may well be curtain call for Hodgson’s stay at Anfield and reports have claimed that owners are already in the market to snap up a new manager. The manager looked off-colour in his post-match press conference, which ended in less
than three minutes. Hodgson stormed out of the hall when the question of his future was raised.
“I am not prepared to talk about that because obviously I am depressed enough with the performance and the result. I have no comments to make and I have no intention to answer any questions on the subject,” stated the Reds’ manager.
The manager felt dejected, disappointed, and frustrated following the defeat. He claimed he could never face the adoring fans who travelled to see such an embarrassing result.
“I am very disappointed for the fans who gave us good support and saw the team concede the goals we did. I thought in the second half we did well to retrieve a seemingly hopeless situation and get back on track and had Steven's penalty gone in who knows,
we may have made the last five minutes more exciting,” stated Roy Hodgson.
