Question:

Roy Jones Jr vs. Bernard Hopkins Rematch (to little to late)?

With Jones comming off his win over Trinidad a while ago and bernard hopkins fighing vs Cal in two weeks.

Theres been speculation that if hopkins wins that jones will try to pursue him for a Long awaited rematch.

Whether hopkins wins or not i still believe jones want the rematch.

Is it just me or do people agree that if this fight were to happen its just to d**n late and a waist of time. Dont get me wrong i mean it will be ok but if this had happend 4-6 years ago THEN it could be a HUGE deal. I think they should just put up the gloves.

  1. the only reason roy would fight bhop again is for the money. He already beat him literally "single"-handedly. So there's no point. They're too old.

  2. I do agree with everyone that it is too late for this rematch but sitting here thinking about it i believe that this is a match that will end up being made, soon i cant see that either of these fighters will have anywhere to go and the fight between the two will maybe be a last big payday for both and we all know that the promoters dont miss a trick when there is some money to be made. It will probably be on the undercard of Mayweather Vs De La Hoya III.

  3. Roy has to fight the winner of Hopkins - Calazaghe for the fight to be relevant. There is no point in fighting Hopkins if he loses to Calazaghe.

  4. Nope. It may be a little to late but look at it this way. Hopkins is pretty old now, and like you said, it could of been a big deal if it were to happen 4-6 years ago.

  5. way toooooo late

  6. Why will Roy pursue him , he already defeated Bhop ,

if anything is Bhop who should try to pursue the rematch.

but i agree this fight is a waste of time. Not interested

  7. Too little too late i say. i probably wouldnt watch even if it was for free on HBO, but maybe i would, i just see no reason why they would even fight anymore. me personally, if they do fight each other, i would look at it as a disrespect to boxing fans because they arent stupid, they know their skills arent the same as it once was but they still know that their name would still sell, so i think that if they do fight, it'll be simply for the money and nothing else, so thats where i stand on that.

  8. to little, way way to late.. move on!

  9. i agree with the general consensus here, it's too late, and if it did go ahead, it wouldn't be a very exiting fight anyway.
