They both want to fight and I think it would be a better matchup than Calzaghe and Hopkins. Who would win the fight. I think Roy has a good chance to win. What are your thoughts

  1. why is every1 sayin RJ is old? yea his is 39, joe is 36 and hopkins is 43. and joe barely beat hopkins and RJ is alot faster and got more boxing skills den b-hop. so i think RJ would win the fight between them 2. RJ already said he tryin 2 get that fight 4 nov.15 and if he cant he wants palvic.

  2. Although, anyone has a chance against an aged and battered Roy, I can`t see Calzaghe able to outbox Roy, nor  the power to Knock him out. Calzaghe throws half punches and only uses upper body strength, "no leg power". Styles make fights, and Roy`s style is to much for Calzaghe. If Roy fights to win he will crush Calzaghe via ko/tko. If Roy fights to not lose, it will be a close decision in favor of Roy!! also.. Calzaghe, do not fight Pavlik!! Danger!!.. Danger!!.. you will get KTFO!!...

  3. I think Calzaghe would beat jones easily. The fight probably would be a bit more entertaining than his fight against hopkins but he should have a much easier time dealing with jones than he had with hopkins. Jones is pretty much done for he did look good against tito but a fighter like tito is taylor made for someone like  jones to beat. Tito is great but he dont belong at that weight way too high for him and also he hadnt fought in years before that fight and jones couldnt knock him out. Roy's skills have diminished greatly he is now only a shell of his former self with little flashes here and there of how great he once was. Calzaghe would win by UD or late ko.

  4. I honestly feel that Roy does have a serious chance of beating him. Roy is past his prime, but the way he looked against Trinidad, Joe may have a problem. I mean Roy is about 39 so he is getting old. Anyway Roy looked like he had that super hand speed back again. Joe would be devastated by Roy's power because he is a natural light heavyweight. I would much rather see Joe fight Pavlik but everybody and their mothers know that Calzaghe is afraid of him. Roy wins by 10rd KO or unanimous decision.

  5. I think Calzaghe wins this on late KO or Unanimous decision. Be a great to see and would just be another name for Calzaghe to add to his list to help him become a true legend. Also i think that Calzaghe should prolong his retirement for about 2 years and fight a couple more big fights just to cement his legacy and then  bow out undefeated, the best pound for pound fighter on the planet and the greatest Super Middle weight ever.

I think Calzaghe should fight Jones in Wales at the end of the year, then next year fight either Pavlik and Taylor at Super Middle even though Taylor lost twice to Pavlik just be good to shut Taylor up, or fight Dawson and Tarver/Johnston at Light Heavyweight and then the year after fight the other two that he didn't the year before, then bow out of boxing having accomplished everything he could of.

  6. Roy Jones Jr. would dominate this fight. If your a boxing fan like me and you've been keeping up with Roy you have also noticed how great he looks right now. HIs knockout win over the young undefeated up and coming Anthony Hanshaw.

His total domination of Tito Trinidad(who also looked excellent but should not have fought at that weight).

Jones' hands are faster than Calzaghe's and he is way quicker on his feet than Calzaghe. Roy hits harder than Calzaghe and has better ring generalship than Calzaghe. Roy Jones would win this fight and possibly by KO looking at the style match-up. Roy is a Jedi Master when it comes to counter punching and Calzaghe comes in head first chin up and throws punches in bunches. Roy's quick left hook or uppercut would make this a tragic night for Calzaghe fans. They would definitely get a flashback of another englishman who fought one of our fast, stinging, dancing, counter punching jedi masters in Mayweather vs Hatton.

  7. Calzaghe just another name in the long list of opponents Jones ducked in hs career.

  8. If Jones Jr. and Calzaghe went head to head I think it would be Calzaghe's fight simply because its now his time in the ring. Roy Jones Jr. was a great boxer before and he probably always will be better than Calzaghe but his time has passed. The only way Jones would win is by a KO which was Hopkins' only way to win in Calzaghe's previous bout and we all saw Hopkins failed to get the KO and lost on points. The same thing would probably happen to Roy, Calzaghe would continue a relentless but ineffective attack which would get him the points he needs for a Split Decision.

  9. Calzaghe takes this one hands down. Either by UD or late stoppage. Roy has never been the same since his two devastating losses at the hands of Tarver and Johnson. You can talk about Tito but let's face it, Tito was way out of his league fighting at a weight he's never been before and even then I had Tito winning 5 rounds and Tito's a guy who supposedly **** his pants against a crafty fighter. Hopkins at this stage is in better shape and a better all around fighter than Jones. Calzaghe should fight Roy and Tarver, both of whom he could beat, and try cement his legacy by adding names now that he's showed he can beat a top P4P fighter.

  10. Roy jones jr. Boy he's old

  11. i wouldn't mind seeing this fight but i wouldn't pay to see it, Roy is not a prime fighter anymore..the guy is a good boxer and his biggest asset is his name, perhaps a good fight hopefully a nice brawl..

  12. i think calzaghe has done his sport now hes proved a point but he neds a boxer just like him the best

  13. Roy Jones should have retired about 5 years ago.

  14. Anyone as talented as Roy Jones, Jr. is always going to have a chance, but at this stage of his career, I don't think that he can beat Calzaghe.  Roy's problem nowadays is that he is not active enough in his fights due to his age as well as him being gun shy (afraid of being knocked out again).  Calzaghe would do the same to Roy that he did to Hopkins- outwork him to win a decision.  If it was a prime Roy, then he would have no problem beating Calzaghe, just like a prime Hopkins would have had no problem beating Calzaghe.  The only reason why he beat Hopkins is because Hopkins is past his prime and he would most likely beat Jones for the same exact reason.  I still would like to see it because I'd like to see Roy get that one last shot at becoming champ and I also think that it would be a better matchup than Hopkins because Roy is not as defensive and he doesn't hold nearly as much as B-Hop.  When its all said and done, I think this fight will happen, and I think that Calzaghe will win a decision that only proves that he beat another past his prime great that he would have lost to if he crossed the pond and fought him years ago.
