i think byrd would have been more of a challenge, so i don't know, but it would have been a tougher fight for jones.

Wow! The Chris Byrd that beat David Tua was pretty much Byrd at his absolute best. I'll never forget that performance by Byrd. Jones would definitely have more trouble beating Byrd than he would Ruiz. Byrd was good at making opponents look unattractive in the ring. With Jones being as cautious as he is, it would surely make for an ugly fight. Despite Byrd being good on defense, I think Jones' speed would allow him to sneak a couple more shots per round than Byrd appearing as the aggressor, as well as get out of danger before Byrd retaliates.

I see Jones winning by a close decision.... maybe something like 116-112, 116-112, 115-113 on the three judges' scorecard.

I would go with Roy Jones. It would be a boring fight but I think Jones by split decision.
