Roy Jones and Dawid Kostecki talk about their upcoming bout – Boxing News
Living legend Roy Jones and his upcoming opponent Dawid Kostecki were present in a press conference at Warsaw’s Marriott Hotel. Both the fighters spoke their heart out regarding their bout scheduled for June 30 in Poland.
When asked about fighting Roy Jones, Dawid said, “It was like dream coming true, Christmas in June – fighting with the man who was and still is my idol. I always wanted to meet Roy and now we are together in Poland, announcing our fight. It’s unreal.”
On the other hand, Roy praised Dawid by saying, “I know that David is a good fighter, tough and I’m sure he did see all my tricks watching my tapes. This is why I will prepare something special for June 30. It’s a great feeling to know that all the blood,
sweat and tears I did put into my style did not waste.”
Unlike the usual, both fighters were quite respective towards each other. Instead of involving in a war of words, they both spoke about their preparations. Roy further added that he now has a goal in mind. He said that this is what he was missing in his
life and he could not push himself harder. Roy now wants to be the cruiserweight world champion. He said that he chose to fight Dawid since he sees this as the first step towards his goal.
After listening to what Roy had to say, Dawid said that he is not taking Roy lightly and he knows that Roy will be ready and will give his best in the ring. He added that this is his best chance to prove his mettle to the world by beating a legend like Jones.
Lastly, Dawid said that he is in the best of his condition and he wants to fly back in order to start preparations for the fight. According to Dawid, he is healthy and fit right now and he will train hard to make sure he gets victorious against Roy Jones.
Both the pugilists seem ambitious, and they both are working hard to win this fight, as it is important for both of them.
