1. Roy Jones would be WAY TOO QUICK! Calzaghe had a hard time beating an old Hopkins. Just imagine what a young Roy Jones would do to him. He'd toy with him and then stop him late.

  2. calzaghe would win on points

nigel benn vs any american chump in his own back yard

why did all the american chumps duck out?

    lmao

  3. This would of been a great fight and i do remember their being a possibility of this fight being made but i think Roys career was looking at Light Heavy and upwards at the time and not Supermiddle, so i would say that the fight would of had to be at Light heavy. I dont think this would be the walkover that American fans would think far from it and in fact where as people challenge Calzaghes opponents as being not as strong as they could be the same could be said about Jones Jr opponents and especially around the 1999 era when he was ranked No1 pound for pound. I would say this would definitely go to points and would be a very close decision either way. At Light Heavy i would maybe just go for Jones Jr as he is right up there as one of the best Light Heavys ever but i will suppose we will see when the fight is made later in the year. And before the excuses are made about age there is only three years between them.

  4. i think it would be closer than most yanks think and i recon maybe calzaghe

  5. Jones Jnr and thats coming from someone who has followed Joe from 1997 to present.

  6. jones outboxes calzaghe from the start and is always a half a step quicker. if he doesn't stop joe late, he takes a wide decision, then goes off and has a game of basketball.

  7. Calzaghe is very fast but Jones Jr is faster. This would be an up tempo fast action fight that could still happen even though Jones Jr. is not the fighter he was then. Jones Jr. would win by decision.

  8. Without hesitation, I saying Jones would win hands down. In 1999, Jones was d**n near untouchable and he was fighting at light heavyweight. So just imagine Jones being a super middleweight, fighting another super middleweight in Calzaghe. Jones' power would definitely be noticed as well as his uncanny quickness. Remember a B-rated fighter in Byron Mitchell dropped Calzaghe and he is nowhere near as talented as Jones.

I don't think the fight would end with a knockout, but I think Jones could drop Calzaghe once or twice and win on points.

  9. roy jones no question, he was extremely quick and could punch when he wanted to, jones is chinny but calzaghe's amateurish punching wouldnt do much to him, keep in mind that in 1999 the best opponent calzaghe had fought was english clubfighter chris eubank, and jones had already beaten all time greats bernard hopkins and james toney

  10. roy was unbeatable from 93-03. i think he would win a convincing decision.

  11. Woody nailed it!!!!!
