Roy Nelson calls out Shane Carwin – UFC News
American mixed martial artist Roy Nelson is eager to get Shane Carwin as soon as possible. The former International Fight League Heavyweight Champion called out Carwin through his Twitter a couple of times.
“Why wait tell December we can see if we can get on (UFC 151). Is this enough time to cycle off?” tweeted Nelson past Thursday.
“When are you in town? We can spar/fight before TUF and put it on the net and make all the PPV money! you down?”
“Try 2 think out side the box like (BJ Penn) but I am sure I wont B able 2 bring margaret goodman on either Any suggestions?”
To add fuel to the fire, Nelson also spoke of bringing former WWE, Olympian and current TNA wrestling star Kurt Angle to the spot. However, realising that it will not be possible, Nelson said changed his plans.
Carwin and Nelson will be rival coaches for the 16th season of a reality show.
Previously, at a press conference, both the MMA fighters exchanged verbal assaults. When Nelson asked Carwin if he could pick his own coach for the show, the latter replied, “Yes but none of them are convicted criminals so you can see the difference.”
Nelson did not stay quiet, he hit back saying, “Who are we talking about? I haven't asked @sonnench yet but would love expertise on moving to the next level?” referring to Chael Sonnen’s recent guilty plea for money laundering.
Although Carwin was referring to sport nutritionist Victor Conte, who was in prison in 2005, Nelson stroke back with his own shots.
Later, Nelson explained that he will not be coaching his team but will be a guest.
The verbal assaults continued with Carwin telling Nelson to focus on people that will help his team as that would be better for Nelson.
The war of words between the two have already set the pace of the reality show for this season. Fans are already excited to see the two top-notch MMA fighters coaching their teams against each other. The more they attach each other verbally, the more fans
will love it.
