Roy Oswalt injured as Philadelphia Phillies lose to Florida Marlins 4-3 – MLB Update

Philadelphia Phillies lost to Florida Marlins 4-3 as their pitcher Roy Oswalt got injured on Friday, April 15 at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia.
The worst thing that can happen to a team is their players getting injured. To the Philadelphia Phillies, the worst thing that can happen is that someone from their starting rotation gets injured, especially if it is the second best pitcher for the Phillies
by the name of Roy Oswalt. He had to leave the game in the start of the seventh inning after he threw a few warm up pitches.
Oswalt has always had lower back strains. Although they were present the talented right hander had battled back problems in the past. During the game against the Marlins he started experiencing uneasiness and the symptoms in his back during the fifth inning.
The good news is that they didn’t get any worse, as the bad news is that they didn’t get any better either.
When he left the mound, it abruptly brought an end to the streak of the talented Philly pitchers throwing complete games. Although the team had called it a lower back sprain at first, they later confirmed that it was a middle back injury.
The Phillies were ahead of the Marlins, 3-2 with Oswalt on the team but they failed to keep it up after he had to leave. The Marlins won as the Phillies’ ex-team mate, Greg Dobbs who is currently with the Marlins came on and put a two run hit at the end
of the seventh inning against Danys Baez. If Dobbs felt any satisfaction after beating his ex-team, he modestly kept it to himself as he said, "It feels good regardless of whom you're playing against."
After six decent innings, Oswalt had injured himself. He had struck-out six, allowed two runs and four hits in the duration. The first hit against him came by Logan Morrison in the fifth inning as he hit a homer that went towards the direction of the Phillies’
bull-pen.
Roy hopes to be back by Wednesday where he is scheduled to start. "It's not to the point where it's unbearable," said the three time All Star. "It's a muscle spasm."
Javier Vazquez struggled through the fifth inning so five other relievers combined to put up four scoreless innings. He allowed five hits and three runs as he walked four. Majority of the night he has to pitch out of the stretch with the runners on base.
A perfect seventh inning was pitched by Ryan Webb, as Randy Choate stood his ground against the only batter he faced as Clay Henson got two batters out. Leo Nunez finished off the inning with his fifth save.
The Phillies were two runs ahead of the Marlins in the first inning as Shane Victorino started off the inning by walking and later Jimmy Rollins hit a double to the right-field. Ryan Howard drove in a run and Raul Ibanez hit a single. Ibanez later hit a
RBI single, as Chris Coghlan and Omar Infante hit one out doubles in the sixth inning.
The Phillies are hoping Oswalt will be back soon, if they want to continue being the National League East lead.
