Ponting has told reporters that Andrew Symonds is developing a new reverse sweep shot using the back of his bat.As yet he has only practised it in the nets, but do you think it will become a feature of his game?

  1. Yeah i totally agree with Marco..When ever a batsman plays the reverse sweep it is always risky..

Obviously Symonds wouldn't use this shot unless he felt 100% comfortable in doing it,and yes if he can pull it off properly we properly will see him using it regularly...

  2. well its going to be risky, but then again, however you play the reverse sweep, its always going to be a risk

however i think (if memory serves me correctly, which it often doesnt!) Symonds actually played it once in Hobart vs Sri Lanka last summer

i think it would only be a feature in the right situation, such as when the run rate needs upping in an ODI or when Ponting wants to make a declaration in a test, but hey if he can get it to work for him, more power to him!

  3. Ive seen him do it before!

I dont see the point n hitting the ball with the back of the bat?? its going to be more powerful hitting it in the standard wayy!

Anyway nothing can beat the Kp switch hit!

  4. I hope he is - I think if the ball hits the upper angle or the lower angle it will make it hard to set a field to.

    Go Roy

  5. Yes he wont really hit that shot if he is 100% comfortable

But I think that's going to be very interesting shot an I will be waiting to see it on the field. It will be great to see it as part of his natural game

KP has really impressed kookee, watch out kookee Roy may do something better than that
