Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Jake LaMotta not beat Sugar Ray Robinson, commonly considered the greatest fighter of all times, as well as lose five other very close decisions? Roy Jones was a bad *** too, but come on, if Tarver could knock him out, I'm pretty sure LaMotta wouldn't have much trouble.

Roy Jones Jr. would knock him out and he is much better boxer he is another Muhammad Ali in his prime.

Lamotta would have chased Roy around of 12 or 15 rounds getting picked apart without landing anything significant.

roy jones might be able to out box him like ray did, however there is no way he could knock him out let alone down...lamotta never went down in 6 fights against sugar ray.....what does that tell ya

roy jones... im not sure if hes going to win but hes got my vote because hes my favourite boxer and hes pretty awesome

Roy might just take that one... he's got that style that's adaptable against many if not all other styles.  I hear people knocking him, but shake my head when I hear that.  He's a badass.  His feints will throw you off... make you knock your self out.  I wouldn't count LaMotta out though either, he was one of the best.  He could probably beat Jones on his best day.  Oh yeah... I forgot to mention, that's why he was one of the best... because he did beat Robinson, yeah.

jones jr wins this by virtual shutout...the reason most of jake's bouts with robinson were close is because lamotta outweighed  him by between 10 and 15 pounds....jones would be similar in weight to lamotta.

if the fight took place at supermiddle, lamotta would be stronger, but jones still takes it by a wide margin.

Jones would thoroughly outclass Jake based on styles. Far too fast, too slick, and too much of an offensive arsenal. This would be another Massacre for LaMotta.

JLM would win, greater desire & animal instinct. You cannot compare fitness etc as it's way different in different era. Jones maybe technically better overall but would be mugged in the ring iafter 10 rounds.
