Roy jones jr. vs. anderson silva gettin closer to reality?

the fight is one step closer to reality. Silva's manager said he was tired of hearing people saying that MMA fighters arent techincal and silva wants to fight to show mma fighters are just as technical. Jim Rome of ESPN 2 made the statement:

“Silva should not box Roy Jones. Where’s the intrigue in that? The whole ‘would MMA beat boxing’ argument is a big waste of time; it’s irrelevant. Silva, the best MMAer in the world would get schooled, even by a way past his prime Roy Jones, if he ever did boxing. He can’t fight his way off the ropes with his knees, just as Jones wouldn’t last a minute with Silva in his cage.”

  1. I don't think it's going to be a fairmatch, with Silva as the underdog on this match.

Boxers and mixed martial artists do not share the same fitness regimen.

I don't think Silva will be able to last 6 rounds of pure boxing.

I bet he'd throw a flying kick on Jones' face somewhere between 4th an 6th round, hehehehe.

  2. rjj would kill.

  3. i aint got no long answer but i would pay to see it if they were going all out

  4. You know, I don't ask for much out of life.  Good health for friends, family and myself..peace and tranquility and lots of fish to be caught.

But I pray to God that we get to see Roy Jones Junior dismantle an MMA fighter.  It would just be so sweet, and the MMA trolls would likely go away for a whopping day and a half.

  5. IMO

Roy would probably be taken in for pre-meditated murder charges as soon as he signed the contract for this match-up...literally.

  6. After the RJJ Trinidad fight I have to say that RJJ has his game back, and I believe would dismantel Silva. Silva is a class  A fighter in MMA and this would tarnish his immage. MMA is taking over mainstreem  and has made a good name for itself and I believe this would be a black eye to the industry. Im a fan of both and this is more anoying than anything. Let's talk about the Mayweather Coto fight that is never going to happen or the Sera Hughes fight that will never happen. You don't bring a football to a basketball court.

  7. no disrespect to MMA, but silva just wants money... everybody wants to see a boxer kick the **** out of a ufc/mma fighter... he should've picked tyson in his prime... but mma fighters don't need to prove anything, they got more heart than a boxer... but, the boxing ring is not for them... he should wrestle big show and win 20 million, instead of fighting rjj... rjj wins easily embarrassing this foo..

  8. I think Jones would just toy with this guy and look for the KO after embrassing him.

Jones maybe getting older and lost some speed, but he is still very dangerous for Anderson.

I hope Roy puts a beating on this fool.

He may be a good MMAer, but this is the sweet science.

  9. I think Roy would knock him out, but if you put these guys in the street to fight....Anderson Silva would kick his *** so bad..

  10. bad move for silva, he wont prove anything fighting a guy like roy jones right off the back. all he'll prove is that he can take an *** beating in a boxing ring, i'm sure jones would get killed in a cage, but thats why he never asked to fight in MMA, he's one of the few boxers that does respect MMA fighters, in fact he's stated that he's a huge UFC fan, so i'd love to see the fight, and i'm sure silva would finally get the paycheck he deserves, but it would be short and sweet, Jones wins by KO in 2...maybe 1

  11. roy jones wouldnt last a minute wit silvia and i do agree with everything you said but some boxers probably do have a chance in MMA but the only way to fing out is for someone to join it and i heard that mayweather is thinking about joining it so will find out when he gets his a** beat

  12. roy jones would knock his @ss out no doubt

  13. Roy Jones will get a beatdown. He too slow!

  14. i think silva would have a lot better chance against roy in the ring than roy would against silva in the cage
