Royal Ascot 2011 Top Jockey Ryan Moore leads Championship race, Paul Hangan, Richard Hughes trailing
A top class performance at the Royal Ascot this year by champion jockey, Ryan Moore, has made him a favorite for the jockeys’ championship. Out classing with his guidance and talent, Ryan Moore stood out in this year’s Royal Ascot meet, as he was crowned
the top jockey of the event.
It was a tough competition among the jockeys and it went down to the wire on the very last day of the Royal Ascot. The Royal finale proved to be the best day for Ryan Moore as he scored two wins and edged past jockey Richard Hughes to narrowly claim the
top jockey title.
Ryan Moore took advantage of a perfect opportunity to claim what he had lost to Paul Hangan last year when Hangan snatched the title from Moore just like what Moore did with Hughes this time in the Royal Ascot.
Now, Moore has the confidence and impetus to becomes one of the greatest jockey’s of all time.
Paul Hangan experienced a drought this season as he went all blank at the Royal Ascot and his stats look dry too. In 37 starts Hangan hasn’t had a single victory, not a champion like performance by any means.
He missed his recent starts because of a spasm in his neck. Hangan dropped from 11 to 8 from 8 to 13 because if his more disappointing starts. He failed to land a winner at Ponterfract and had four rides to end his winless dry spell.
Third in contention for the jockey’s championship is Richard Hughes, who suffered an agonizingly close defeat to Ryan Moore, for the top jockey crown, at this year’s Royal Ascot meet.
Richard Hughes, who mostly ran for his Father-in-law and trainer, Richard Hannon, had a dream start to the Royal Ascot where he won three times in a row and definitely looked as if he would achieve more as the Royal festival continued. He did not disappoint
and had one more second place finish then jockey Ryan Moore who had same amount of winners as Richard Hughes.
Overhauled by Ryan Moore, Richard Hughes will be looking to settle the score in the upcoming jockeys’ championship but he is ten victories behind the current champion, Pal Hangan.
Making sure that Richard Hughes remained at second place for the second year running, Ryan Moore’s last day heroics earned him a top place, and he kept the champion, Paul Hangan, at bay by three wins.
