  1. All RCCL ships are good and are now standerdised across the board.Their is little or no movement on the bigger vessels. However you may try a cabin up front with a gentle up and down motion."Will the boats be rocking alot" presumable you  refer to the life boats and they only rock when a young stud is in their with his girl.Yes that does happen. But their is absolutly nothing to worry about the Balcony is nice but will draw your attention to the water more.Do the Liberty.

  2. Choose the Liberty! Its a brand new ship!! Balconies are overrated in my opinion... so unless you NEED the balcony for whatever reason, go on the Liberty!

  3. I would take serenade of the seas. Especially if this is your first time cruising. Number one, because it's a good size. Second of all because it is the newest more people are going to go on it. Which means more lines for activities such as the onboard surfring and the theaters will be crowded more, happened to me on the freedom of the seas during spring break. Plus balconies make the trip more enjoyable.

I have been on four cruises, all with Royal. Plus I'm going on another one in December. In all of my experiences on cruises to southern Caribbean cruises I don't feel the boat rock at all. I'm loyal to royal.

  4. I'd decide this way:

Compare the price of the two cruises.

Now if the cruise with the window is a lot cheaper AND you don't have many days at sea, then choose this cruise.  IF you have at least two days at sea on the cruise with the balcony, then grab that cruise so you won't have to lay in the sun with a thousand other people searching for lounge chairs and you just hang out on your private little balcony.

As for the rocking...well, I've only been on board a ship for one night that it had rocked and have been on four cruises to date.  All were in April.  So, don't worry about the rocking aspect.  Most ships are so big that they don't rock anyway.  If you choose a cabin in the middle of the ship, this will help the rocking if it were to happen.  i.e. take a pencil and put it between your thumb and forefinger and wiggle it back and forth...see, the middle of the pencil doesn't rock as much as the "bow" and "stearn".

While I'm here, I'd also suggest taking the late seating for dinner so you won't have to leave an island early just to go eat.  You'll have plenty of time on board to enjoy the ship at night.

Check out this site:  iBtraveling.com so you can compare prices, cabins and everything else.  If you're young...in your twenties (since you mentioned it's spring break), please consider Carnival, I believe you'll have lots more fun on that ship.

Also, bring your own snorkel equipment so you don't have to rent.  Just hop into a taxi when you get off the ship, head to a beach that has snorkeling or bars or jet skis or whatever you think is best, and the taxi driver will know exactly what beach to take you to.  Heck, he lives there!  He'll need the money, so don't worry, he'll pick you up right on time at the beach he's left you off, just bring some good tip money.

    Enjoy!

  5. Dude I would take the balcony.....the best.....depends on the weather, but most don't rock. you never know your on a ship till you look outside...

  6. I have been on two southern Caribbean cruises.  One was to Aruba and Curazao this past May and the other was a couple years ago as far south are Barbados and Grenada.  The sailing both times was great, very smooth.

Some people worry about getting sea sick, but the ships being used these days have automated stabilizers which minimize the rocking.  The larger ships cut through the water so easy that you don’t even feel like you are moving.  When there is bad weather the cruise lines will steer around and away from it, sometimes changing the order of port stops.  Also, the ships generally move overnight and dock in the mornings so you don’t feel much movement. Consequently, your chances of getting sea sick are minimal. There is generally less motion than on an airplane.  If you do get sick, all ships have a doctor and they will dispense sea sick medicines.  If you are prone to motion sickness, just get pills or a patch from your own doctor before you go, or go to a boating store and get a sea sickness bracelet.

I have not been on the Liberty (yet) but I have been on the Freedom which is identical and that ship is so large that the motion of the ocean does not bother it at all.  You will hardly know that you are moving on it.  I always recommend that people get the balcony cabin as it really enhances your cruise ecperience.

  7. Personally I would choose the liberty just because it is a newer ship and likely to have more amenities. Balconies are nice but you need to think about how many days at sea you have and how busy you think you will be? Will you really be in the room often enough to enjoy the balcony? If you don't think you will truly get use out of it then don't waste the money, it can be better spent elsewhere. As far as the ship rocking, you never know, some days you feel it other times you don't. There are a lot of variables that play into that and isn't something you can always predict. To be on the safe side buy seasickness pills, you can get them from your local drugstore. Bonine (aka meclizine, antivert) works well and is what doctors prescribe but is actually available over the counter.

  8. the ships have stabilizers which make the movement much much less felt by passengers.

YOu should go to your doctor and get pills for sea sickness or a patch if you have possibility for it.

    good luck

    and have a great cruise.

  9. Go with the balcony - they are fantastic.  The ship will not rock, it is smooth sailing in the Caribbean.

  10. Choose the cabin with a balcony.  I have been on 14 crusies.  The first one was an oceanview cabin and every one after that has been a balcony.  There is nothing like sitting on your balcony watching the world go by.

  11. I would take the Freedom of the Seas or Princess Cruise but for you you should go on the liberty of the seas, No you will not even feel the boat rocking my friend she was able to do cartwheels on the ship. But when you go on always were tennis shoes so it it does happen you will have a grip on your shoe and won't fall. It is more rockey toward the back of the ship. Don't get a room back there becasue you will hear the ship's engine. If you are on a bunk bed you may feel the bed vibrate. But I was able to sleep up there it even felt like a massage! But that was just one night becasuse there was a storm that night. HAVE FUN ON YOUR CRUISE. LISTEN ENJOY YOURSELF YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT NO ANYONE THERE AND AFTER THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT SEE THEM AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE!

  12. Choose the one with the balcony! After being on two cruises (one inside and one balcony) the one with the balcony helped my seasickness the most with the fresh air from the outside.

Inside cabins or ones with the port hole, which cruise-lines call an ocean-view are smaller than rooms with balconies.

Cruise ships do rock a lot do not be fooled. I heard before my first cruise the bigger the boat the the less it rocks, this is a lie. This movement just effects people differently, as my husband did not feel it at all. The front desk can give you medication that will help. You can also see your doctor so he can prescribe something or  check the local drugstore for OTC meds.

    Have a good time!♥
