  1. Simply go to RC website and click on "new to crusing" and then top tab "before you board"! ;-)

  2. I would say your best bet is to have a passport. go to RCCI.com for information about your cruise. Cruisecritic.com has some great info on specific cruises and ships.

  3. You will need your passports, if you have not applied yet you best get started because it can right now take about 3 months to get one. go to the web site for passports for information and to print the forms.  You can mail them in or take them o a local post office for them to forward to the passport office. Here's the web site:

    http://travel.state.gov/passport/passpor...

When you reserve your cruise they give you a reservation number.  Go online to Royal Caribbean's web site:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/gohome.do and register.  Then read what it says under "Have a Reservation.  Then enter your reservation number and complete the pre-cruise registration forms.  You can do parts and save it and come back later when you have all of the information.  After you finish every part of the registration it will tell you that all is complete and allow you to print a "SET SAIL" pass for each person.  print those and take them with you to the ship, along with your passport.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM. So take swim wear, shorts, sandals, beach shoes, your snorkel equipment if you have it, sun glasses and sun screen, lotions, a cap or big hat for the sun, a book if you are a reader, your music player, sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, your camera, and other personal toiletries.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc.

Most 7-day cruises have two formal nights when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. But most people do dress up in a tux for men and a long dress (any color) for women. Some men just wear a suit and tie and some women wear a nice dress but not a gown. You will not be denied access to the dining room or anything else if you choose not to dress up. (we usually take off the formal stuff after dinner and pictures anyway).

Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage. Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and and your clothes that you sleep in.

If you have access to a grocery or convenience store prior to boarding the ship, or if you drive to the port, take a 6-pack of bottled water and a 6-pack of your favorite soft drink in 16 oz bottles. Soft drinks are not included in the price of your tour and I find that its nice to have my own soft drink in my cabin, same with bottle water which they also sell on ship.

The weather should be good, maybe a little chilly on deck in Miami but much better tyhe further south you go.

  4. In Dec 2007 you will need a photo ID and a certified birth certificate.  The ideal is a passport, but at this time that is not required and will not be required until at least July 2008.  However, if you had a problem on the trip and needed to fly back to the US you could not fly without a passport or a form from US INS saying you have an application pending.

Weather will be temperate 70s-80s in daytime you might need a light jacket at night. weather in the Bahamas will be the same as Miami.

Have a great trip, and congratulations on your nuptials

  5. You don't need a birth certificate if you have your passport.

    What to pack ...

Camera. Sunscreen. Swimsuit. Okay, now that we've got the basics out of the way, here are a few must-have cruise items that'll help make your vacation more comfortable, enjoyable and memorable.

    On the first day...

For the first day of your cruise, pack a small carry-on bag with your travel documents, a change of clothes, bathing suit, workout clothes, and any medications you may need. That way you don't have to wait for your checked bags to arrive in your stateroom.

    Onboard attire...

Shorts, t-shirts, slacks, trousers, casual skirts, blouses and sundresses are all perfect during the day, whether indoors or out.

For lounging by the pool, pack two bathing suits (an extra suit in case the other is wet) and a pair of casual shoes (e.g., flip-flops, sandals, sneakers). You'll also need some casual shorts and a couple of t-shirts or a cover-up for getting to and from the pool areas.

If you're planning to visit our onboard fitness center, be sure to bring extra shorts, t-shirts and socks that you won't mind working out in - plus a pair of tennis or running shoes/sneakers.

See the above link for dinner attire.
