  1. Royal

  2. There are some really cool shows on the Travel Channel about both of these ships, actually.  Samantha Brown has gone on both (Freedom, twice, I think), and the Carnival Inspiration.  They were all on while ago, actually, and I re-watched them.  Look online for TC show times.

  3. I would prefer freedon of the seas.  Freedom of the Sea's is a new ship that has a lot of activities for kids and teens as well as adult.  The youth programs are packed with activities and fun.  I went to the teen club on this cruise and it was fun.  I met a lot of people my age.  The food is delectable on the ship.  The Carnival Freedom looks like a nice ship too.  Im not sure how new it is but it is very grand and the architecture is amazing.  However, I would still rather the freedom of the sea's just because I prefer Royal Caribbean.  Carnival ships are usually over crowded and has a lot of little kids and teens on it.  It would be a good ship if you have kids and teens with you.  Adults would enjoy Royal Caribbean more.  But by looking at the itinerary, both ships have great destinations.  When you choose your cruise, remember to HAVE A LOT OF FUN=]

  4. if you have the opprtunity to go on freedom of the seas...TAKE IT. ordinarily i wouldn't side with royal carribbean but freedom of the seas is the biggest ship on rc and is suppossed to be really nice. they have a rock climbing wall, an ice rink, a johnny rockets, and a ben and jerry's onboard! i'm going on that ship next year for my grad present =]

  5. I took my first cruise on the Freedom of the Seas in February of 2007. Although I was unsure about cruising for the fist time on such a large cruise ship i am happy with the choice i made. We had a junior suite w/balcony on deck 9. The room was roomy enough for three people. The suite had a large closet, large mirrored vanity ,bathtub+shower, balcony, flat screen tv, wetbar/frifge,and sitting area. Although I did not have any kids with me I did see a nice arcade, teen club and pool area for kids.Regarding dining... The food was AWESOME....we had our choice of dining in the formal dining room (btw it takes longer to eat because it is a 3-4 course meal) Chops,Portofino or the Wind Jammer ..if you dont like that there are still several other options to choose from such as Johnny Rockets. My one regret is dining at portofinos only once. Like most cruise ships the activities were non stop and you received a newsletter every evening posting the activities for the next day, details about the next port, and details about any excursions you may be interested in......Oh, my I could go on and on.

  6. Both of these ships are fantastic choices and fairly new ships.  Carnival will usually always be the lowest priced of the 2.  Freedom of the Seas maiden voyage was 6-04-06 while Carnival Freedom was 3-05-07.  I believe that you will find that both ships offer a very fine childrens program as well as very nice teen clubs and activities. Food is inclusive on both these ships with the exception of the "specialty restaurants" which usually require reservations and a nominal charge for a very nice meal. Carnival Freedom offer a variety of activities which include: Waterslide, mini-golf, basketball court, jogging track, and the seaside theatre.  Freedom of the Seas offers: mini-golf, basketball court, jogging track, the flowrider, the H2O zone, cantilever whirlpools (which extend 12 feet beyond the sides of the ship) a rock climbing wall with 11 different routes, ice skating, inline roller skating, and a boxing ring.  Both ships offer day spas (additional charge) Both have very nice casinos along with a variety of bars, clubs, and lounges. One big thing to take into consideration is the fact that Freedom of the Seas sails out of Miami, FL all year long...Carnival Freedom is in Italy during the spring and summer and will be in Fort Lauderdale, FL during the fall and winter.  Feel free to visit both of their websites as well as cruise critic website for additional information. Bon Voyage!
