I'm going on that ship in March for 5 days. I have heard some things about their food and it wasn't exactly good. Like the buffet food is always cold, no lobster, bad pizza, ect. Is it really bad? This will be my first cruise so I can't compare it any other cruises.

Also do they have free ice cream???

  1. Royal Caribbean is great. I was on the Navigator not too long ago.

I preferred the daily dinners rather than the main buffet , but it was always in top shape, never cold. They did serve lobster, and though it was small, they were pretty good. The pizza wasn't bad, pretty average actually, but you can't really expect something gourmet-like to feed 2500 people.

Yes, the ice cream is free and pretty good as well. All in all, I rank Royal Caribbean highest in food quality compared to the other cruise lines.

  2. I have traveled with Royal Caribbean for five times and everytime has been really nice.  The food is good. Depending on the ship and the length of your travel you may have lobster one or two nights. It is usually on captain's night. The buffets upstairs( floor 11) are always hot, fresh and delicious.  They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the regular dinning rooms you also have a very nice variety of food every night.  The menu is not big but you can choose good things from each one. The night we had lobster we asked for a second serving and they brought us the second lobster. (They are not too big).  The only buffet I personally felt a little cold was a midnight buffet that was served on the pool deck.  It was windy and a little cold. (Dec. 2007) In all the other buffets they have those special things with hot water that keep food hot. Also during breakfast on floor 11 they prepare omelets with whatever you want.

The pizzas in the corner "coffee shop" are ok. These do not have time to get cold because people always are going in there and ordering.  The cookies and the coffee there are goood!  (Specially the coconut cookies.) And yes, they have a free ice cream machine on deck 11.   I have been traveling with Royal Caribbean for aprox. 16 years and I love it.  Be careful with other cruise lines because I have family and friends that have traveled in them and they got food poisoning, they were sent to their staterooms by doctor's orders and they couldn't get out to the islands or to any deck for 48 and even more hours. They said it was h**l.  So be careful with "Celebr....ations" cruises and have fun, fun, fun with Royal Caribbean

  3. I have not been on the Navigator but have been on two of its twin identical sister Adventure of the Seas and the Mariner of the Seas. We were just on the Adventure this past May and the Mariner in December.  The Voyager class ships are very nice. The food, service, and staff were great. The ship has a promenade mall down its center where there are shops and restaurants. There is a place in the mall where you can get pizza and other foods 24/7. The ship has a rock climbing wall, a roller blade track, basketball/volleyball court, pink pong tables, an ice skating rink, multiple pools and hot tubs including some for adults only. It has a mini-golf course, a place to play table games, an internet cafe. You can really get a great preview of the ship by going to the royal Caribbean web site and clicking on "ships" and then it will allow you to see a 360 degree view of many areas of the ship.

The food on the ship is great  and there is plenty of it.  The buffet food is hot and fresh; they keep refilling the food trays regularly.  In the main dining rooms the menu for dinner is also great.  There is a variety of salads and soups each day and the entres include things on various days like prime rib, lobster, fillet mignon, lamb, chicken, and a variety of fish.  On each day you will have your choice of a beef, chicken, seafood, or pasta dish.  What I really like about RC's menu is you can always order a steak or salmon on any day if you do not like the regular entre items.  The dessert menu will also have a variety of items and you can always order as much free ice cream as you want.  There is also near the buffet area a soft ice cream machine where you can make cones for yourself and eat as much as you want.

Now on the promenade there is a Ben & Jerry's ice cream stand where you do have to pay for ice cream; but you can eat it free at dinner.  The promenade also has a place where you can get fresh hot pizza all of the time.

The midnight buffet is only held one night and it is open to everyone, kids and all.

You will love the food on ship and be careful not to gain 10 pounds.
