  1. The ship uses your key card as both your charge card and your ID.  So if your friends try to buy alcohol the system will know they're under-age.

That said, the drinking age in the Bahamas is 18.  So when you get to Nassau, you can all go to the bars together.  (But don't let them get drunk and miss the ship!!!)

I was on that cruise with my cousin and we had an awesome time.  Coco Cay is BEAUTIFUL - the best place for a "beach day".  Nassau is great for shopping (if your girlfriend likes handbags she will love the Straw Market).

    Have a great time!

  3. I just took my daughter (age 16) and her friend on the 3-day Bahamas on the Majesty in October.  It's a very nice ship with people of all ages.  If I remember correctly, they look at the ID's at check-in (for security reasons this is all done before you board) and your cruise pass card is noted accordingly and this is what you use to buy your drinks on the ship.

Coco Cay was fun - there are several excursions you can purchase (you'll actually receive a booklet in the mail as it gets closer and you can (and should) prepurchase your excursions.  We did the $10.00 beach mat - which included lunch.  Bring cash, the little staw market only takes cash - you can't use your cruise pass card to buy.

Since the trip was for Sweet 16, we bought the expensive $150 pp full day at Atlantis which included use of pools and waterslide and lunch. That was a fun day but the real highlight was the dock at Nassau - the straw market next to the tender boat dock sells all the "knockoffs" - I got a cute little dooney "letter carrier" for $20.

The keys - our sailing didn't include Key West - but I'm sure it will be great.

Since you are going in the summer, I'll bet there will be more people your age than when we went.

The food, by the way, was very good.

I hope this helps - have a great time!
