Royal Caribbean vs. Carnival?

We are taking our (3) children on a cruise and were wondering which is better for kids. They are all boys, ages 3, 7, & 9. I've been on Carnival before, but never RC. We are just going from LA to Mexico for 4 days in October.

  1. Royal Caribbean is your best bet here.

They have an exceptional youth program that is

virtually like a daycare. When ever you want a few hours

to yourself to tan or hang out at the adult only pools (yes i know its hard to believe but RCL has adult only pools =] )

you simply sign them into their program (each age group has different SPACIOUS activity rooms assigned) and your set.

They will watch your child until 1 am If you like. And even when youre not getting the alone time on vacation there are so many family activities like mini golf, the family pools, johnny rockets, iceskating and more to keep the kids occupied. I promise if you take your 3 kids on a RCL cruise they will never be able to thank you enough. and plus if you do take them, when your old ( =] ) and retired YOUR kiddies will repay you by taking YOU on a cruise. have a blast !

  2. I have been on 7 cruises and love Carnival. I have never found it cheap or dull, and actually have found the service, kids programs and amenities superior to RCL. There is more of a night life on Carnival but they do have baby sitting available for the little ones.Carnival also has more activities to do during the day, and if you choose one of the ships that has been redone, they have a great area for the kids to play and get wet , with smaller slides and zero depth splash areas. I am sure which ever you choose you will have an awesome time.Have fun.

  3. My husband and I have taken our son on cruises since he was eight, all carnival, and he has loved them. He usually has so many activities planned, we see him at meals and excursions and that is it. He is now 17, and he still loves going on carnival cruises with us. My husband and I decided to take a RC cruise in December to see what they were like, and found them to be very disappointing. The food, activities, shows and coordination was far less than Carnival. We will stick with Carnival from now on. Good luck with what you choose and have a great time.

  4. First off im a tenager and ive been on both cruise lines. They both were really enjoyable however i would choice RCI 9 out 10 times, especially for kids. The kids centers on RCI are far bigger and more elaborite. Carnival has excellent food but its rather fancy, on RCI they have other choice especially for kids. My cousin got mac and cheese and mini burgers everynight.

    Hope this helps

  5. If you want to have a cheap dull and aweful vacation.. take the Carnival cruise...

I recommend Royal. I have cruised on both liners and dont dare compare the quality of Royal to Carnival. Royal is outstanding!!!

  6. we went on the RC two years ago and loved it!!

  7. Either one works. RCI has tons of activities for everyone, and Carnival is well-known for kids and teens and nightlife.

  8. Carnival, its much more kid friendly wit ha good day care

  9. Royal Caribbean is definatly the best choice. There is alot more to do on-board the ships. most of their ships have rock climbing walls, ice skateing rinks, theaters and some even have surfing.
