Royal Challengers Bangalore Coach Ray Jennings sees Virat Kohli as India’s future captain
The coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Ray Jennings, in a recent statement implied that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 will assume the leadership role in India's national team besides leading the franchise over the next three editions of the Indian Premier League.
"I have no doubt in my mind that Kohli is definitely the future captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750,” the coach maintained.
Captain Daniel Vettori took a flight to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Kohli has stepped in the interim role since Vettori was rested for Bangalore’s fixture against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals on May 11, 2011.
Jennings lauded Kohli’s performance as the captain, saying that the player has conveniently adjusted to the new role.
“He hasn't captained a lot so it was nice for people to see what he did during the previous game. It is nice to see him fit into the leadership role with ease. He was very precise with his decisions. I am confident he will continue to do so," Jennings elaborated.
Kohli was the only member retained by the Royal Challengers ahead of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. He has been the poster boy for the franchise in most of the promotional campaigns this year.
Kohli enjoys being the face of the franchise and now the captain of the squad.
An official from Bangalore’s management stated that Kohli was retained for his exuberance as players are the main agents behind the success of a franchise. Kohli, being http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Young-c41367 and energetic player promises a bright future for the Bangalore roster.
“No doubt (he is), that's why he was retained. He's young and exuberant and has a fantastic future ahead of him...The owners decided to invest in Kohli to take us forward," he said.
The 22-year-old Kohli, who is hopeful of Vettori’s return in the upcoming fixtures of the IPL, told the reporters that the team will be looking to find a strong combination for this tournament until the captain returns.
