Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, Daniel Vettori, lauds http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Khan-c98451’s bowling performance
The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, Daniel Vettori, said that he will greatly depend on Zaheer Khan’s bowling services for his team’s success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 4.
Zaheer Khan has claimed the highest number of wickets for the Royal Challengers. However, they did come with a hefty price tag. Bowling in the seven IPL innings, Zaheer has claimed seven wickets at an average of 34.57, including his best bowling innings
of 3/32.
Comparative to skipper Vettori’s economy rate of 5.82, Zaheer has faced 8.64 runs per over which has been too expensive. In each game, the left-arm pacer has been assigned to bowl in four overs.
There is a common opinion among the people that Zaheer has not given his l00 percent for the RCB in the ongoing season, perhaps, because of the hectic schedule he has been following for a couple of months.
He has also been the top-wicket taker of the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2011, along with the Pakistani skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 for claiming 21.
When Vettori was asked for resting Zaheer for the competition against Kings XI Punjab, he said that he does not support the idea.
Though, Zaheer has been expensive, he has played a major role in their last two wins, especially against Delhi Daredevils.
During the 3-wicket victory against the debutant http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils, Zaheer claimed an important wicket of opener, David Warner, facing 27 runs. The dismissal of this important wicket played an important role in putting pressure on Delhi, as a result, their
next two wickets fell in short succession.
In the next game against debutant Pune Warriors, he again picked a crucial wicket of their skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364, but at the cost of 33 runs in four overs.
The New Zealander, while referring to their upcoming ninth match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dinesh-c54134 Karthik, David Hussey and Shaun Marsh.
Bangalore, under the leadership of Vettori, has won four out of eight matches and is at sixth place in the points’ table with nine points.
On the other hand, Punjab is languishing at the ninth place with three victories out of seven matches played so far.
