Royal Challengers Bangalore steer past Kochi Tuskers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803 (Recap + Analysis of the players)
The Indian Premier League has kicked off in an astounding manner right after the ICC World Cup 2011. Now in its fourth season, it has provided the perfect opportunity to get the attention of the cricket fans in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, who are still basking in the glory of
their national team’s wining the World Cup this year for the second time in the country’s history.
In the third match of the lucrative league, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) managed to pull off an impressive win against newcomers, Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) by six wickets with eight deliveries still remaining. The Challengers successfully chased
a formidable total of 161 runs against an impressive bowling brigade.
With eyes set on the target, the Challengers began their innings confidently but were struck by an early blow, as their main batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan lost his wicket after scoring only a run.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mayank-Agarwal-c1937 as the duo scored tentatively against KTK. Agerwal departed after scoring 33 runs, while Kholi went after scoring 23 runs. At this time the game was evenly balanced, but tables turned with the arrival
of South African, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 who played a gem of an innings which not only tilted the game back in favour of the challengers, but also won them their first game of the season.
De Villiers was simply splendid for the KTK bowlers, as they all attempted to bowl on target, but the batsman seemed to be unstoppable. The South African seemed unfazed by the bolting deliveries of Sreesanth, while he played ace spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Muttiah-Muralitharan-c78157
with ease as well. De Villiers played a commendable innings of 54 runs off 40 deliveries. His flamboyant innings included five 6s’ and one 4. He hammered KTK’s medium paced bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Raiphi-Gomez-c2250 who went for 20 runs in his only over of the game. The Proteas
wrapped up the game in Gomez’s over. Asad Pathan provided decent support to the South African by maintaining his wicket, while De Villiers continued his onslaught. Pathan scored 12 quick and important runs off just four deliveries. His innings included three
boundaries. Both batsmen remained unbeaten as they carried their bats off the field.
From KTK, Murali was the most economic bowler with an economy rate of 6.75 in his four overs. He gave away 27 runs but stayed wicket less. On the other hand, Gomez proved most expensive with an economy rate of 20.00 in one over. The fiery Sreesanth grabbed
one wicket in his three overs by giving away 28 runs.
Earlier, the skipper of KTK, Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bat. The newbie team in the IPL had a splendid start as the opening pair ran havoc on their opposition right from the word go.
Brendon McCullum and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 could not have given their team a better start than they did in this match, as both openers played their natural game, toying with the opposition at their own will. McCullum seemed in tremendous touch with the bat as no shot
seemed difficult for him to execute. He played an innings of 45 runs off 32 deliveries, which included two 6s’ and four boundaries.
Laxman, on the other hand looked, was equally impressive as he freely clobbered the opposition all around the field.  He scored 36 runs off 29 deliveries. His innings included two boundaries and two 6s’.
However, after their dismissal, the middle order failed to capitalise on the great ground work laid by their openers, and the team ended the innings by giving a tally of 162 to the opposition to win.
From the RCB, skipper, Daniel Vettori was the most economic bowler with an economy rate of 4.25 in four overs. He also grabbed the most important wicket of Jayawardene as the KTK captain misjudged Vettori’s delivery that landed him stumped by De Velliers.
De Villiers was the obvious difference between the two teams, and was rightfully named the man of the match after the game for his mind blowing innings.
