Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders – Indian Premier League - Live Cricket Scores and Update
Kolkata Knight Riders 165/8 (20/20 ov) v RCB 123/9 (20.0/20 ov) - Kolkata Knight Riders won by 42 runs
On Tuesday, April 10, 2012, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) finally registered their first win in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who are yet to register a win after having played two games.
After winning the toss, Bangalore in front of a capacity home crowd chose to field first as they wanted to rattle KKR on a small total.
However, KKR came out with star all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, who not only played with zeal, but also decapitated RCB bowlers by hitting them out of the park without a hint of remorse.
This was certainly the perfect start for KKR, which without a doubt pleased the owner of the team, Bollywood star Shahrukh http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319.
With a staggering total of 60 runs in seven overs, the batting side finally lost the services of Kallis, who departed after scoring an innings of 22 runs off 23 runs.
With Kallis back in the pavilion, RCB sought the opportunity to climb back in the game but Gambhir alongside wicketkeeper/batsman Manvinder Bisla proved just too good for the bowling side as the duo clobbered another stinging partnership, leaving RCB bowlers in a state of desperation.
Finally with 125 runs on the board, RCB struck once more by dismissing Bisla, who lost his wicket after clobbering a resounding innings of 46 runs off 29 deliveries.
With only three wickets down, KKR were still in a leading position, but they faltered right after the demise of Gambhir’s wicket, who fell after scoring a knock of 64 runs off 39 deliveries, leaving his side on a tally of 139.
It was a total wreck for KKR afterwards as they kept losing wickets and none of the batsmen managed to score in double figures, this batting collapse prevented KKR from posting a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472otal beyond or near 200 runs as they succumbed on 165.
Needing 166 runs to win in 20 overs, RCB couldn’t have asked for a better target to chase, but KKR were up to speed as they picked four of RCB’s main batsmen with only 25 runs on the board.
The trend of falling wickets continued for RCB which ultimately cost them the game as they could bolster only 123 runs in 20 overs.
From KKR, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lakshmipathy-Balaji-c72130, was named as the Player of the Match for grabbing four wickets.
