Royal Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal established in 1973. It covers an area of 972 square kilometer and have subtropical climate.

The park consists of a diverse ecosystems including the Churia hills, Ox-bow lakes, and the flood plains of the Rapti, Reu and Narayani Rivers.
