Royal Entourage likely to win at Catterick – Handicap Hurdle Preview
The Philip Kirby-trained veteran gelding, Royal Entourage, is anticipated to complete the first ever hat-trick of his career by winning ‘Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation Handicap Hurdle’ at Catterick racecourse on Wednesday, March 7.
The maverick runner is set to run against 8 competitors in the Class 5 contest of 2m3f distance. The total prize money for the ace race is £2,190.
Royal Entourage picked up plenty of confidence by winning a couple of consecutive races during the month of February 2012. The seven-year-old talented horse proved his mettles at two different venues including Musselburgh and Southwell.
Now, the bay gelding is on a hat-trick. Thus, today’s contest holds great significance for him and he seems to be in full swing at the moment to cope with any sort of challenges.
Since making his debut in September 2007, Royal Entourage has won 5 out of his total 27 starts to date. His triumphs include 3 All-weather and 2 Hurdle. His total earning to date is £27,966.
The brilliant horse currently seems to be in the most favourable position to win at Catterick today. If he manages to sustain his winning momentum, his chances to thrive will be as high as 90 percent.
However, there are two potential runners who can impede Royal Entourage’s way towards success. These include Clever d**k and Flora’s Pride.
Clever d**k bagged the maiden triumph of his career at Taunton track on February 21, 2012. Prior to this, David Pipe’s young gelding had run for seven times.
At the moment, the six-year-old runner looks to be in good form which will help him unleash enough fighting spirit today.
On the other hand, Flora’s Pride also earned a mega victory during the last month. The 34-race experienced mare of Keith Reveley has won for two times in her career.
She will also be able to fight confidently today, eying on the top spot.
Thus, Handicap Hurdle is supposed to be a rip-roaring clash. Each of Royal Entourage’s two worthy rivals will try his/her best to take the lead. Royal Entourage will have to run to his utmost to win. Let us see how he struggles for success. Good luck to
the horse.
