Royal Entourage seeking to stretch the winning streak in the Rewards4racing.Com Handicap Hurdle (Betfair Hurdle Series Qualifier) at Market Rasen
Market Rasen is to host the Class 4 Rewards4racing.Com Handicap Hurdle (Betfair Hurdle Series Qualifier) over two miles and five furlongs on Tuesday, 27th March. Competing for the £3, 574 purse is the lineup of five runners, each four-year or
older.
Leading with the best credentials is Royal Entourage, Royal Applause’s seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Trempkate. He has progressed drastically through the 2012 season with four outings resulting in three victories, the last three actually qualifying
him for a hat trick.
Royal Entourage’s cracking into the season was not really rewarding as he finished fourth in the Southwell-Racecourse.Co.UK Handicap Hurdle at Southwell over two miles on 18th January.
The race was won by Bocamix who was riding with Adam Nicol and had Skenakilla Cross being the first one to join the winner on the other end of the wire.
Striding on for the third position was the 9/2 favourite of the race, Akadyr.
Almost as if avenging the misfortune of the seasonal debut, Royal Entourage claimed all the next three races that he took part in.
His second start of the season was in the Racing UK Handicap Hurdle at Musselburgh over two miles and four furlongs on 16th February. He was coupled with Richie McGrath for the challenge and the two led the 5/1 favourite runner up, Civil Unrest,
by 3 ¾ lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position behind the winner was Stormy Morning.
His second leg for the hat trick, that Royal Entourage might not have seen coming, was the Nottinghamshire Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle. Royal Entourage dominated the two miles and four and a half furlongs’ track with Kyle James riding.
Finishing the closest to the winner was Liscahill Karella and reserving the third position was Fran’s Folly.
Next came the final leg for the hat trick and the most recent race that Royal Entourage bagged.
On 7th March, he was sent as a favourite for the second time and stamped the Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation Handicap Hurdle on 7th March at Catterick. The 11/8 favourite led the track by ten lengths.
The runner up for the race was Andy Vic.
Royal Entourage is in form to extend the winning streak to a fourth win today.
