i would like to know what i should do. it seems that royal mail are cutting even more corners now, as our postman at work, opens the door, & wont step in, and literallly throws the post about 7 feet onto the side, and if we are lucky we dont have to pick it up off the floor. id appreciate any thoughts ppl might have please..i was thinking of putting a camera up, so i could show his bosses, but why should i have to... so, am i being petty? or do i expect too much these days?? i've tried humour and sarcasm which has proved fruitless so far...

  1. Report him. He does not know what is in your mail, it could be fragile. He has no right to treat your mail like this especially as the sender is paying for this service

  2. At least it's getting to your address - treat that as a gain

  3. Personally i think that,if it was only letters he was throwing in and not big parcels with fragile things in them, then i wouldn't be too bothered about it.After all, what harm is he doing? That's my opinion, many people may disagree.

  4. Ring up and complain, or go to your local delivery office before 1pm and speak to someone there, I work for the Royal Mail and his behaviour is not acceptable, if his boss knew he would get a ticking off, throwing it in the door is not the due care and attention you should be getting.

  5. Try just asking him 'Serriously: Could you please place the mail inside next time?'

He'll probably be embarrassed and be more helpful in future. Failing that, try:

    a. Asking a s**y-secretary to ask him instead.

    b. Phone the local sorting office, they won't be best pleased with him.

  6. yeh thats not right...a phonecall to his boss should do the trick!

  7. It's no secret that postal workers fling our mail around all the time, I have some friends who work in a sorting office and I hear horror stories about fragile packages getting bounced off walls to get them into the mail bins.

However, just because they throw your mail around in the sorting room doesnt mean that the postie should be doing it right under your noses, that's rude and disrespectful. If I were you I'd have a word with him and let him know I'm not happy about it. I'd try placing a small table or something within reach of the door for him to place the mail onto, that way you're meeting him half way. But if he still doesnt sort his act out you should report him. After all he is the face / representative of royal mail and he should be conducting himself better than that.
