Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Reale Seguros will sponsor the Open de España for three years
The Open de España has earned a three-year collaborative sponsorship, from the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Reale Seguros Insurance Company.
From now till 2014, the tournament will be called Reale Seguros Open de España. The event will be staged from May 3 to 6, 2012, at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, Spain.
The agreement has been signed among the European Tour officials, the President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza and Luigi Lana, the Chief Executive Officer of Reale Seguros Insurance Company.
The news of the agreement was recently put out on the European Tour web. According to the given information, the Reale Seguros Insurance Company has agreed to contribute €1.55 million annually for the sponsorship, for three consecutive years.
“Our strong commitment to the game of golf goes far beyond sponsorship. Our company shares many values with the Open de España and with the world of golf in general,” Lana said.
Lana added, “As a matter of fact, the pursuit of improvement, ever present in golf, happens to be one of the brand marks of our company. It is a great pleasure for us to be associated with a growing and dynamic sector, and we at Reale Seguros are particularly
proud of our contribution to its growth”.
The company will continue supporting the golf culture in the regions and in return, the Reale Seguros will be promoting its services before and during the tournament, at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla.
“This renewed agreement is a big step towards updating and improving our services to our affiliates,” Escauriaza said.
The field of the upcoming tournament is yet to be finalised. Thomas Aiken is the defending champion, and he will also play in Spain, in the coming week.
Miguel Angel Jimenez, Colin Montgomerie, Edoardo Molinari, Jbe Kruger, Paul Lawrie, Rafael Cabrera-Bello, Tom Lewis, Nicolas Colsaerts, Tommy Fleetwood are some of the golf players, who have confirmed to join the field of the Reale Seguros Open de España.
This tournament was established in 1912. It has been rotated to different venues since its inception, and has an amazing history.
The official prize fund is €2,000,000 and its field will be finalised after the Ballantine's Championship.
