Royal Treatment for Los Angeles Kings during DVD Premier -NHL Update
Being treated like royalty at the Premiere of your own DVD is certainly something that is common, but when talking about the Los Angeles Kings, they definitely did deserve everything they got on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
It was a spectacular night for the Los Angeles Kings and even better for the National Hockey League (NHL) as hundreds of spectators witnessed the premier of an extremely emotional journey of the team that won its first Stanley Cup ever in franchise history.
For a team that had the best years of Wayne Gretzky come and go without a Stanley Cup, imagining anyone else but the Great One doing it seemed near to impossible. But with a little teamwork, constant dedication and knowing that they would eventually make
it, the Kings earned what they had always dreamed of.
Justin Williams gave a speech to the Los Angeles Kings before a game-six win, which was also shown in the epic movie and had players after the event recalling those moments that had them just inches away from Lord Stanley’s Cup.
"He was just basically telling us to take advantage of it," Jarrett Stoll said. "He got a little emotional. For himself, he felt very lucky to be in a position to win it again. Just being honest, how he felt. Hearing it from a different voice as opposed
to the coaching staff or anybody else, it means a little different, I think. He was just honest with himself and how he was feeling. Look at the guy to your right, look at the guy to your left and play for them. Play for whoever. Play for your wife, your kids,
your grandpa, your grandma, your parents, whatever. It was a great speech."
New Jersey Devils’ fans might not be appreciating this event as much as Los Angeles fans did but obviously, it was not meant for the team that has won it over three times either. This was a moment for Kings fans to enjoy their hearts out as many have lived
through their lifetimes only hoping for a championship to come to town and now finally getting what they have always wanted.
