  1. absolutely special delivery has to be signed for and if you aren't in to sign they will drop a card through your door and take it back to your local delivery office.

    this can take up to 48 hours but is usually is there by the next day and then you can go and pick it up and sign for it.

    you have to take id with you.

        if you fail to pick it up within 14 days it will be returned to sender.

       ps depends on the size of the package whether your normal postman delivers it or if its sent out in a van.

    And yes it comes with the normal post.  Most places only have 1 delivery a day - that is under threat - where I live the post is delivered any time between 10 am and 4.30 pm.

  3. Yes, special delivery has to be signed for and if it's a package then yes, they'll make a special trip to get it to you. If you want to influence it's arrival just go into the bathroom or put on the washing machine so you can't hear the doorbell and voila, it'll turn up. It's a law.
