If all of Europe's royal families converged together for some grand event, what language would they use to communicate? I'm going to say German- as they are all of German descent with the exception of the Prince of Monaco (but I can't imagine he'd be invited anyway).

  1. I would say French, since its the 'usual' language of society.  Most all Royals and members of Polite society, know or have learned French.

  2. It would be English. All of the reigning heads in Europe speak English. Before the Russian revolution the Tsar and Tsarina used English as their everyday language.

  3. My guess would be Italian since most royalty had to learn it.

  4. German, its the melting pot or European Monarchs.

  5. I would say German or English.  I agree with your thinking on the German.  I threw in English because it seems to be a more common secondary language in non-english speaking countries.  I think it might be considered to show respect toward queen Elizabeth.

  6. It would be English, I don't believe that the Queen actually speaks German (only English and French), but English is the Second language of most European countries indluding Spain, The Netherlands and Scandanavia. As Germany is a republic there would be no native German speakers which would be slightly ridiculous.

Incidentally Prince Albert of Monaco speaks Fluent English as his mother was American and he went to University in the USA.
