There is a place and a time for everything, so if Royals are living in countries that are democracies.  It is o.k.  They too have to live some where in this world.

They are decorative and bring in the tourists.  And reading about their antics is a hoot.

Och man they make so much money for Britain it would make your eyes water.  And we still have the right in a true democracy to take the pissss out of them.  Remember Spitting Image.  Think why all those tourists come to London - they have no history - like, sorry Americans,who feel they have come home and lust over our Monarchy.  Personally, I would ditch the whole lot of them especially Charles because he is nuts but not enough nuts to have someone clean his arrrse for him.  I like the Queen she is a hardy old trout and I bet my new handbag from Bid T.V. that she gets fed up to the back incisors having to shake all those grovelling tittts, dressed up like local councillors,  newly painted buildings, bogs and boats.  Drink the champers yourself your Majesty, you do your hours can't critisize any woman whether royal or not for doing that.  The French would have their royals back in a shot, but they were revolting so it serves them right.

I used to think that until I started researching how much money various royal families bring into their respective countries in the amount of tourist dollars.

You wouldn't believe it.

It's not just the British royals either. Apparently the royal Danes, Swedes,  Norwegians, and even the Spaniards are huge attractions as well bringing in quite a bit of tourism money.

there is something comforting in the continuity that happens in a monarchy---it fills a need, a yearning. We all look for some kind of stability, parent figure, whatever. Is it a waste of time, money? Maybe. But it does fill a need---keeps reporters reporting and writers writing and gossip columnists gossiping, so it ain't all bad...it sells advertising...

Maybe so, but we still watch and follow all their movements and foundations.  They must be doing some good for us to keep up with their lives the way we do.

of course not! the people cant do anything about it anyway. think, if u were part of the royal family, and you had your titles and all, would you like it if everybody said that u just cat have that anymore?
