So there goes my idea. I was saying the other day Roy should go coach for the Avs, but apparently he wants to keep coaching his son.

Do you think he'd make a good coach for the Avs though? Why or why not?

  1. Kind of old news Katie....and actually it looks like it will be his SONS.....two of them. To be honest, I don't know if Colorado would have went that route anyways. Roy is an idiot.

  2. no hes to inexperienced.

  3. no because the avs suck monkey balls... it wouldent matter if herb brooks coached them

  4. I don't think Patrick Roy was seriously considered to be the next head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. Why? Because he only has a few years of coaching in the QMJHL as his coaching experience, and even there he was in the spotlight many times when it came to controversy. Also he has not shown any maturity and self-control that it takes to coach at the NHL level. If he wants to even consider a coaching job in the NHL, he will have to prove that he can control himself in tight situations, something he hasn't done at all yet.

  5. As much as I love Roy, I don't think he's ready for coaching the NHL and I honestly don't think the players would be ready for him either.  He's a hot head, he takes no bs, and some of those players wouldn't be able to handle his ways.

I honestly think he needs to coach some other team aside from the one his sons play on also (Les Remparts de Quebec).  I follow them a little.  Those kids have way too much pressure with Patrick as their father as is, nevermind him coaching them too. It's hard to follow in your fathers shoes when your father is Patrick Roy.

With all of that said... J'AIME PATRICK...now there's one NHL'er I'd give my number to lol  (that's in reply to another question on here)

  6. No, he has very little experience.

  7. I my honest opinion. I think Roy is too nuts to be a good coach. His success right now is a fluke. He has never ever been about team ,only himself. That is why he will never be a good coach.

  8. eh i didn't think he'd be a good choice anyway...As for who should be the new coach I'd go with either Dale Hunter who was a great leader and has been a great coach for Knights, or Paddock.  The Sens got off to a great start and judging by their success after he was fired the team's collapse wasn't his fault.

Kate-Yeah the Caps were considering Hunter before Boudreau came up aces.  I think the only problem they were having was he was a little pricey but the caps have always been pretty stingy (save Ovechkin and Jagr) so i doubt he's that bad.

  9. If he wants to be a NHL coach one day, he will. No matter what he did. It's Patrick Roy. I didn't follow the Remparts since he is the coach except the series versus the Saguenéens so I don't really know if he could make a good coach.
