Ruaridh Jackson signs a new two-year contract to extend his stay at Glasgow Warriors – Rugby News
Scottish professional Rugby Union team, Glasgow Warriors, has announced the signing of a new two-year deal with Scotland’s international fly half, Ruaridh Jackson. Officials at the club have
confirmed the signing of Jackson in a statement released on their website on Tuesday, October 25.
The new deal will allow Jackson to remain at the club until the end of the May 2014. Warriors are one of two Scottish professional Rugby Union clubs which participate in the RaboDirect Pro
12 and European competitions.
Glasgow Warriors Chief Executive Officer, Kenny Baillie, has expressed his delight on retaining the services of Jackson. He also has expressed his satisfaction with the club’s recent success,
which includes Warriors defeating Leinster, Dragons and Cardiff Blues in their 2011/12 season’s encounter so far. Besides this, the club has attracted new sponsors, which will financially contribute towards the success of the club.
Baillie further added, “We have re-signed four of our best young players at an early stage in the season. With the move to Scotstoun also on the horizon, we have a lot to look forward to, and
today’s announcement only enhances our sense of excitement.”
The 23-year-old Ruaridh Jackson has expressed his delight on extending his stay at the club. He expressed his satisfaction with the club’s overall progress. He confirms that he is convinced
that the Warriors’ is right place for him to develop further.
Jackson termed the recent signing of the key players by the Warriors has influenced his decision to stay at the club. Earlier, Warrior has handed over new contracts to their talents players,
which include, Ryan, Duncan and Chris.
Jackson added, “Like every player, I’m ambitious about what I want to achieve in the game, and I’m excited that Glasgow Warriors and Scottish Rugby are committed to moving the club forward
on and off the pitch.”
The Northampton born Jackson made his international debut for the Scotland in 2010. He was part of the Scotland’s 30-man 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) squad. He so far has played 11 international
games and has scored 16 points.
Jackson joined Warriors in 2008. He has made 35 appearances for them and has scored massive 103 points in these appearances. He will make his first appearance for Warriors in the 2011/12 season,
in their upcoming game against the Ospreys. However, his inclusion in the squad for the upcoming Friday, October 28 encounter is subject to his recovery from the hamstring injury, which he sustained in Scotland’s last RWC game against the England.
