  1. maybe because when you turn the cold water on and feel it and then you feel the water it feels hotter because you put your hand in the cold water but its the same temp. from before. it takes a while for the cold water to get into the entire bath tub.

  2. It's probably because when you start to add cold water you stir it in with your hand, which initially becomes colder. Once this now cold hand goes up the other end of the bath where it's a lot hotter, the water will appear to be roasting due to your hand being much colder.

    Possibly.

  3. You will get the same effect if you have 3 bowls of water.

1 cold, 1 hot and 1 in the middle that is only warm.

Place one hand in the hot water, the other in the cold water for about 15 seconds. Then. place both hands in the middle bowl. The hand that was cold will feel hot and, the hand that was hot will feel cold.

The water in the bath as you begin to add the cold and start to agitate it, it first contacts the cold water then the hot making the hot feel hotter than it did originally.
