Rubber Bands on Braces--the last step?!?!?

Okay, so I heard that rubber bands are usually the last step on braces. I just got mine and wear them 24/7.. but I really want to get my braces off!! I've had them for over a year, my teeth are now perfectly straight, I don't really have any bite problems. I have one band on my right side cause my upper teeth slant to one side. Can anyone give a guess as to how long until I get 'em off??

Also, do I change the bands every day??

I have been wearing rubber bands for like a 2 years now. so i wouldnt get too excited. but im suppose to get mine off on monday! (fingers crossed) :D
