Rubber bands inbetween my teeth as spacers?

Question

I went to the orthodontist today, and he said he was going to put something in my teeth to space them out, so he would be able to insert something next week when I get my braces on. I thought they were going to be metal spacers or something, but they're just rubber bands in between my teeth. Did anyone else have this done?

wow spacers dont hurt at all i just got braces it hurts take an ibprofen 800 better

so like the day i got my bracket fell off the next week i got my bracket on my lift side off and spacers put in blue so i dose not hurt girl
