Rubber bands on braces??

i know i asked this before but i just want to know a few more things about my rubber bands on my braces. they go from my front bottom teeth to my back front teeth. srry its hard to explain. my ortho never told me about an overbite/underbite. why do i have to wear them if i dont have an overbite/underbite? thnxx

  1. it may just be to pull your bicuspids back to make room for your front teeth, or to close gaps in the back of your mouth, its hard to say since i dont know were each of your teeth are, although... im not an orthodontist anyway...


  2. I used to have braces and rubber bands, and mine sounded like they were in the same location as yours. My orthodontist told me it was to close gaps in my teeth, and make sure that my bite was right inline. I previously had an underbite, but that was fixed with retainers, not rubber bands. So I am not 100 percent sure, but it sounds like yours could be for a bite or gaps issue. Hope that helped!
