Rubbernose pleco vs goldfish?

I have two common goldfish one about 4 in. and the other is about 2 1/2. would a rubbernose pleco be ok?

20 gallon long tank

with a filter rated for 15 gallons

i want the pleco to pick up what the filter doesn't

  1. First, common goldfish can grow up to 23 inches in length. You have two of these, and a 20L is not going to contain them.

    Second, goldfish are very messy eaters (in my experience, only "outranked" by oscars) and produce a LOT of waste (goldfish do not follow the common rule of one gallon per inch of fish because of this, they need about 4 gallons per inch of fish) so, the 15g filter needs to be upgraded (might as well just get a new tank with a new filter).

    Third, since goldfish are so messy, not only do they need that larger filter, but they need regular water changes (the smaller the tank/filter, the more water changes they need).

    Fourth, a rubbernose pleco is not compatible with goldfish because rubbernose plecos are tropical fish, goldfish are cold water fish.

    Please, do research on any living creature before you impulse buy.
