Rubbing alcohol in ear, do i have a ear infection?

. i went to the beach and swam in the waves and i got tumbled and rolled like 100 times in the sand and it got sand and water in my ear the next day i bought ear cleaner that cost 6 dollars for no reason because the only active ingrediant was rubbing alcohol. so i held it in my ear and for like the first 30 seconds, i was fine but after that my ear started hurting really bad... maybe it sunk in too far? i feel like i have an ear infection or something.. idk.. i know i probably shouldnt be worrying about this cause it will go away in a couple dayss.. but do you know if holding rubbing alcohol in ur ear for too long can cause an ear infection?

that probably did no harm to your ear. you might have swimmers ear that hurts in the ear canal and sometimes around the ear opening. you could try one part room temp water and one part white vinegar and pour that into your ear canal and let it sit there for 5 minutes that helps stabilize the chemicals. If you don't have no improvement you should call your doctor and try to get some ear drops or go in and get seen.

no your grandmother was perfectly right to have you put alcohol in your ear it would dry out the left over water in your ear drum  and no it wont make you get an ear infection because  and infection would be from a bacteria and alcohol kills bacteria  anyway the alcohol will make your ear

feel warm as it dries the water out  but to answer your question it  wont give you an ear infection !
